The choir creative leader and conducter is Larisa Yuryevna Arkhipova.
The choirmaster and concertmaster is Alexandra Yevgenyevna Kuznetsova.
The administrative director is Galina Vasilyevna Yuryeva
The choir of teachers and staff (30 members) was founded in September of 1982 at the initiative of the trade union of the University and has been working successfully for 25 years ever since.
The choir treasures its own history. In the 90s there were many changes in its staff and leaders, however, despite of the difficulties the choir works, supports many good traditions and continues its active singing activity. The choir's repertoire is rich in Russian and foreign classic and folk songs and modern music. The most favorite works are a little triple "Night" (S.Slonimsky, Orlov), "Ave verum corpus" and "Vater, hor unser Flehen"(Mozart), choirs from operas "Navuhodonosor" (D.Verdi), "Cavaleria Rusticana" (P.Maskania), etc.
The choir's activity is exciting and creative.
The staff performs on the stages of Petrozavodsk State University, Rautio Musical College, concert halls, gives concerts in different regions of Karelia, takes part in large festivals in Kondopoga Ice Palace together with other choirs.
In October 2006 the choir participated in the 6th Russian contest "Singing Russia" and won the diploma of the contest.
Members of the choir have a very interesting cultural life. Many times they had pilgrim excursions to historical places and monasteries in Karelia and Leningrad region.
They organize memorable singing parties with other choirs of Karelia. The choir provides a base for training students of the choir conducting department of Rautio Musical College. It helps young choir leaders to master their professional skills.
Larisa Yuryevna Arkhipova has been a creative leader of the choir since 2000. She is a teacher of choir conducting disciplines of Petrosavodsk Musical College. She graduated from the choir conducting faculty of this college (Glikman`s class) and Krupskaya Leningrad State Higher School of Culture (Goncharov`s class).
