Petrozavodsk and six other Russian cities held MEGAHACKATON Intel IoT Roadshow-Russia
The aim of the contest is to develop the makers community, to train it to work with IoT-technology by Intel and Microsoft, to search for innovative IoT solutions for subsequent commercialization. Experienced and novice developers have a unique opportunity to meet with the board Intel Edison, cloud services (Intel IoT Analytics, Microsoft Azure), and to realize their own project within 24 hours.
One of the participants of Hackaton was the team QWERTY composed of students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology (M.Kuzmin, A.Malyhina) and the Faculty of Physical Engineering (V.Perminov, I.Rigoev).
At the contest, the guys represented the Resource Center of Scientific and Technical Creativity of Petrozavodsk State University and developed the project “Smartarium”, or "the smart aquarium." This system is similar to the technology of "smart home" and allows the owner, while being away, not to worry for the condition of their pet fish.
Despite the fact that the team QWERTY was not among the winners, their project was highly appreciated by the jury and was among the favorites. According to the participants and organizers, the event turned out more interesting than they expected.
We are looking forward to next MEGAHACKATON in Petrozavodsk.
